On November 30, five seniors from The University of Southern Mississippi’s Casino, Hospitality & Tourism Management visited Tunica for the first time to observe your gaming market firsthand. We left with the impression that your leaders have demonstrated good stewardship of your gaming tax revenues. We are awed by the quality of life benefits enjoyed by your community attributed to the gaming industry. You are indeed living it up just down the road!
I would also like to publicly recognize Webster Franklin, President of the Tunica Convention & Visitors Bureau for making this learning experience possible. Special thanks to Mississippi Gaming Commissioner Nolen Canon, Lyn Arnold, President of the Tunica Chamber of Commerce, Scott Barber, Regional President, Mid South, Caesars Entertainment, George Goldhoff, General Manager, Gold Strike, and Tony Carlucci, Vice-President and General Manager, Hollywood Casino for investing their time in our students.
We hope this will be the first of many educational field trips to Tunica. We have much to learn from you!
