Lions on road back to winning track

Rosa Fort HIgh School took its first loss of the football season at Center Hill of Olive Branch last Friday, moving to 5-1 and 1-1 in district play.
“We had a couple of miscues on offense and missed a few chances,” Lion Head Coach McKinley Scott said early this week. “The offense just had an off night.”
Scott said his defense had another great game, keeping the Mustangs from scoring the entire second half.

Jason Saffold led with three solo tackles, nine assisted tackles and one sack, but Scott said the entire defense “played great.”
The Lions scored twice in the 15-12 loss, once on a one-yard quarterback keeper by Bernardrick McKinney and again on a 41-yard TD pass from McKinney to James Northern.
Rosa Fort travels to Byhalia this week for a district match-up. The Indians are 3-3 overall and 0-2 in league play and are coming off losses to Senatobia and Lafayette.
Scott said his team is practicing well and “doing things a little different.”
“You never want to lose, but this will get us back on track for the rest of the season.”
