In addition to spelling, Lakaria is involved in various activities.  Lakaria enjoys singing in the youth choir at Greater New St. Paul Church in Tunica.   She is in the Beta Club, band, and in the Student Council.  She is an A student, who takes pre-AP courses at HLMS.  Most of all,  she loves performing on the Horn Lake Middle School Spirit (dance/cheer) team.
Although she enjoys her activities and the Spelling Bee, she misses her school in her hometown and recreational activities at G. W. Henderson Center. Her mother is very proud of her hard work and initiative in academics.  She credits teachers at Tunica Elementary for laying the foundation: Mrs. Walton, Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Melton, Ms. Johnson, and Ms. Willams.
She is the daughter of Lukischa Lambert, special educator; granddaughter of Maxine Lambert; and niece of Neketta Dean, Tunica County Sheriff’s Department.
