Lady Devils crush T-Birds 39-33

With the second half of district play remaining, the senior Lady Blue Devils are looking good. They recently defeated conference opponent DeSoto and have set their sites on Lee-Marianna.
Tunica will meet the Cougars Friday night on the road. They will return to Tunica on Saturday to face Strayhorn. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
Tunica got off to a solid start against DeSoto. By half time, they led 13-10. Things heated up in the third quarter and Tunica held onto a narrow lead at 23-22. The fourth quarter ended in a tie, leading to a tense overtime. Tunica held on to take the win 39-33.

Caitlin Brown was the leading scorer for the Lady Blue Devils, stacking up 25 points. Crystal Terry chipped in five. Claire Schubert had four. Ellen Graves and Sallie Perry had two each. Samantha Melton rounded out scoring with one.
The night before, the Lady Blue had a hard fought battle against Marvell Academy.
Tunica trailed Marvell 11-27 at the half. They added nine to their score in the third, while Marvell increased their score to 38.
Marvell took the win 42-22.
Brown also led scoring in that contest with 11 points. Schubert put up five. Melton, Terry and Perry put in two each.
Despite close calls, the Junior Lady Blue Devils fell to Marvell and DeSoto.
Against Marvell, Tunica trailed 15-10 at the half. They were down 23-30 by the end of the third. Marvell held on to their lead to take the win 47-41.
Crystal Terry led scoring with 19. Jordan Spencer followed with eight. Bailey Bounds, Ellen Graves and Hayley Holmes pitched in four each. Sallie Perry  rounded out the night with two.
Head Coach Abbey Turner said the effort against DeSoto was also strong, but it did not turn out in Tunica’s favor.
The Devils trailed 10-12 at the end of the half. They were down 23-25 at the close of the third quarter.
DeSoto then took the lead and ran. Tunica fell 33-43.
Terry stacked up 20 points. Perry and Spencer chilled in four.Abigail Barnett had three. Graves pitched in two.

Caitlin Brown was the leading scorer for the Lady Devils most recent match-ups.
