Virginia Ann Battle, USNR (Ret.), 84, of Memphis, TN, retired career federal employee, died February 7, 2011 at home. Funeral services were held at  1 p.m., Friday, February 11 at Arlington United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member. Interment, with military honors, was in Tabernacle Cemetery near Brownsville, TN.
Miss Battle was a graduate of Texas Women’s University, a life member of Naval Reserve Association, Reserve Officer’s Association and Military Order of the World Wars. She was a Magna Charta Dame. She was also a devoted advocate of the Memphis Humane Society.
