Margaret's Musings 2.0: Memorial Day means something

Some say the roots of Memorial Day are ancient Greece where public funerals were held for soldiers killed in battle. Some say it sprang up following the Civil War when national cemeteries were established as a place of rest for soldiers lost on both sides and their families came to decorate their graves each spring.

What we know for sure is that somewhere somebody thought it was the right and honourable thing to remember those who gave their lives for their country.
