MGM donates to Nat’l Civil Rights Museum

TUNICA – MGM Resorts International, parent company of Gold Strike Casino Resort, recently donated $150,000 to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. The funds will support the Museum’s programming surrounding the 50th anniversary of the assassination of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, which took place at the Lorraine Motel, now the location of the National Civil Rights Museum, as well as enhancements of the museum’s physical plant.

The National Civil Rights Museum, in conjunction with partner organizations and civil rights leaders across the country, has structured a year-long program of events and activities to encourage others to continue the Civil Rights Movement while focusing on the theme, “MLK50 - Where Do We Go From Here.”
