Margaret's Musings 2.0: Bye, bye birdie?

Once upon a time, there was a small town in Southern America. It was, for the most part, a quiet and charming place.

Each winter, though, a black cloud literally descended on the town. The cloud was noisy and messy and ugly. It seemed to grow from year to year and nothing, I repeat nothing, seemed to be able to stop it.

I know this may sound like the plotline for horror movie, but for us Tunica folks, this is the reality of the yearly migration of the sky rats known as blackbirds. For several months of the year, their calling cards can be seen and smelled most everywhere.

I have a theory as to why they love it here so much.
