State Superintendent addresses community
It has come to my attention that members of the community have been misinformed about the status of the leadership of the Tunica County School District (TCSD), and I am writing to provide facts around this issue.
As you are aware, the Mississippi State Board of Education (SBE) determined on July 8, 2015 that an extreme emergency situation existed in the TCSD. Acting on a recommendation from the Mississippi Commission on School Accreditation, the SBE voted unanimously to ask Gov. Phil Bryant to declare a state of emergency for the school district.
