Casinos contest tax rates Saturday shooting
Gaming issues dominated discussion for the second straight supervisors’ meeting on Aug. 14. The county board carried over a comment period on the tax rolls from the first Monday meeting on August 4.
Caesar’s Entertainment representative Kit Floyd, who filed an objection to 2014 assessments for Harrah’s and Roadhouse casinos on August 4, was on hand to answer supervisors’ questions. She was joined by Jim Martin, appearing on behalf of Fitzgeralds and Hollywood casinos. Martin said the properties he represents are currently in litigation against Tunica County over last year’s assessments.
