RESOLUTION OF THE TUNICA COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ADOPTING, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING PROPOSED TUNICA COUNTY REDISTRICTING PLAN FOR SUPERVISOR DISTRICTS, JUSTICE COURT AND CONSTABLE DISTRICTS AND THE REALIGNMENT OF VOTING PRECINCTS REQUIRED DUE TO THE CHANGED SUPERVISORS’ DISTRICTS
AND AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING SUBMISSION OF TUNICA COUNTY REDISTRICTING PLAN TO MISSISSIPPI SECRETARY OF STATE DELBERT HOSEMANN PURSUANT TO MISS. CODE ANN. SECTIONS 19-3-1 (Rev. 2012), 23-15-281 (Rev. 1987), 23-15-283 (Rev. 2008) and 23-15-285 (Rev. 2012)
The Board of Supervisors of Tunica County, Mississippi (“The Board”), in special session on this 31st day of March, 2014, took up for consideration the matter of the redistricting of Tunica County into new Supervisor Districts, new Justice Court District, and the realignment of the Twelve (12) County Voting Precincts and formally adopting the Tunica County Redistricting Plan 7c.
WHEREAS, the 2010 Decennial Census revealed that the population of the Supervisor Districts of Tunica County, Mississippi, had changed to exceed ten (10%) percent from the least populated district to the most populated district, resulting in a maximum total deviation in the amount of 997 percent (97%).
