Academy Dr. sidewalk shelved ‘til spring
Cyclists and skateboarders will now be asked to stick to the streets of downtown Tunica following action by the Board of Aldermen on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Mayor Chuck Cariker reported that a local merchant had expressed concerns over riders on the sidewalks, especially during business hours. Ward 3 alderman Eloise Carson said she thought the board had drafted an ordinance about that years ago.
Cariker said an ordinance was in place, but asked for board discussion on enforcement. The ordinance states that bikes “must be ridden single file on a road. If there is a bike lane, it can be no more than two abreast.”
