Grants available for healthy living programs
The Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi’s next round of grants available to improve communities through healthy eating and active living is due April 1 with a maximum of $5,000 per grant award.
“Through our Regional Health Council, the Community Foundation has made grants totaling $195,000 to local organizations to improve the health of their communities”, said Tom Pittman, President. “In addition to monetary support, we have also supported our communities through technical assistance and resources that have assisted in sustaining their work”.
Resources have included the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, Let’s Move for Cities and Townes, development of a Community Toolkit, and publishing a monthly News You Can Use newsletter.
