Nearly 50 inmates at the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman will receive diplomas or certificates in graduation ceremonies Friday, September 14 and Monday, September 17.
The achievement of 11 inmates in the Adult Basic Education/ Vocational School will be honored at 10 a.m. Friday. The event will be held in Unit 30 gymnasium. The speaker is Lt. Nathan Harris, who supervises death row inmates at Unit 29.
On Monday, 37 inmates will graduate in the Alcohol and Drug program, set for 9:30 a.m. The speaker is Marian Winters, academic teacher at pre-release.
