Disaster loans available
“Emergency loans for farmers, ranchers, and operators are available through the Coahoma County Office of the Farm Service Agency,” David R. Durham, Farm Service Agency Farm Loan Manager, said.
According to David R. Durham, this authority is pursuant to Secretary Vilsack’s declaration on Aug. 8, 2012, of a major disaster in Mississippi caused by drought that began on July 31, 2012, and continuing. Tunica County is contiguous to the primary natural disaster area. Therefore, it has been designated eligible for Federal Disaster assistance pursuant to Section 321 (a) of the Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act.
