Willows reopens with bang
Tucked away in a dense pocket of vegetation across the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta levee, two mechanized traps sit fully loaded, waiting for the operator to launch a seemingly endless cache of clay disks into the sky.
“Pull,” commands a shooter, looking down the barrel of a Beretta 12-guage as a bright orange clay pigeon arches high in the air from behind the limb of a wild pecan. Reaching its apex, the clay shatters into dozens of pieces as a rattling “boom” pierces the air.
