Grant to Museum produces opportunity for local youth
The Tunica Museum received a $5000 Challenge grant from the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi’s Place-Based Education and Civic Entrepreneurship Endowment to provide employment education to Tunica County young people who have no employment experience. The endowment was begun by Morgan Freeman’s Rock River Foundation.
Partners in Employment and Community Education will focus on the teenage girls and boys in Tunica County who have never had an opportunity to earn money through a summer job program. The Museum will employ a group of motivated young people in a five week program of employment education and construction.
