Robert E. Williams
Robert E. Williams, 80, died Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Tunica Nursing Home.
Graveside services were held at Oakwood Cemetery in Tunica on Monday, June 21 at 10 a.m. Brother Danny Smith officiated at the service.
Robert was born in Birdie, Miss. on May 10, 1930, the eldest child of R. M. and Agnes Williams.
He leaves his wife of forty-seven years, Betie Bibb Williams, son Tommy W. Harrison (Debbie) of Tunica, grandson Chris Harrison of Tunica, and granddaughter Suzi H. Tuberville (Allen) of Memphis, TN.
He retired after forty-two years of service in Tunica’s USDA-ASCS, where he received the Administrator‘s Award for Service to Agriculture for helping in the development of aerial compliance used nationwide.
An avid outdoorsman with a great love for turkey hunting, he was a charter member of Francis Landing Hunting Club and a former hunter safety trainer.
Robert also loved flying and was a former chairman of the Tunica Airport Commission.
Robert has spent the last twenty years as an active partner in Harrison Farms with his son and grandson.
