Collectors coming after town’s delinquent fines
Outstanding fines owed to the town of Tunica will now be turned over to a Texas based company which will attempt to collect them, following action by the Board of Aldermen.
Deborah Sivira of American Muncipal Services offered her company’s services to town officials on June 15, saying that AMS had worked with over 300 cities. Sivira said the town will receive 100 percent of what they are owed, and the company will add 25 percent to the total to be collected.
“We only get paid if we are able to locate them and they pay,” Sivira said.
“We get all or she gets nothing,” Alderman Charley Knabb said.
Town clerk Celia Boren asked what information would be required.
