Lions are North champs
The Rosa Fort Lions are catching the scent of a state basketball championship, after mauling all comers in the North tournament last weekend.
“Our guys played hard and played smart,” commented Head Coach Fred Steele in an interview Monday. “We came through with our rebounding and free throws.”
Rosa Fort goes into the state tournament at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson as the #1 seed from the North and will meet #2 seed from the South, Pass Christian on Monday, February 28, at 2:30 p.m..
Rosa Fort will be looking for redemption against the Pirates, who defeated the Lions in tournament play in 2009, knocking them out of the post-season.
