SO investigating robbery, prostitution ring
Four people have been arrested for prostitution following an incident at a local hotel on March 26.
Around 6 p.m., the Tunica County Sheriff’s Department received a call reporting a robbery at America’s Best Value Inn in Tunica Resorts. Deputies interviewed a male complainant, who said two men had forced him to give them an undisclosed amount of cash and other items.
Hambrick resident seeks help
Hambrick Subdivision resident Toni Price was clearly fed up when she complained to county supervisors on March 15 about what she described as a “mess” in her neighborhood.
Price said she had reported the problem of junk cars on her street and in a neighbor’s yard for three or four years, but that nothing had been done about the situation.
“It’s unfair that I have to live under this mess,” Price said.

National symposium rolls dice on Tunica
Topping 37 cities from across the nation, Tunica is now in the running to host an up and coming conference on social media this fall.
In early March, Tunica was included as one of 37 possible sites to host the 2011 Symposium on the Use of Social Media in the Tourism Industry. Dubbed SoMeT by its creators, the event is in its second year. Last year, it brought in 100 industry professionals to Loudoun, VA, near Washington, D.C.
The push to bring the symposium to Tunica was led by the Convention and Visitors Bureau, after one of its own attended the inaugural event last year.
