The Tunica County Farm Service Agency has a new Chief Executive Director.
Aaron C. Robinson Sr. was appointed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in mid-December to fill the vacant position. For the last two months, he has been hard at work serving the agricultural community in Tunica County. According to the FSA’s mission statement it will be his responsibility to serve “all farmers, ranchers, and agricultural partners through the delivery of effective, efficient agricultural programs for all Americans.”
A Brookhaven native, Robinson attended and graduated from both Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Alcorn State. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and a Master’s degree in Agricultural Education.
His interest in agriculture stems from his childhood. His parents were vegetable farmers and also raised livestock. When the time came for him to choose a career path, agriculture only seemed natural.
Robinson says that he is glad to be in Tunica and has enjoyed meeting his wonderful staff and many friendly farmers. He also looks forward to working closely with FSA’s sister agencies and meeting community leaders.
