Eastern culture meets the Deep South

Tunica Rotary President-Elect Gloria Hailey welcomed Group Study Exchange team members Ran, Young, Pil, Soo and Park. The team visited several places in Mississippi, including Tupelo, Oxford and Clarksdale. They will depart from the United States at the end of April.Tunica Rotary was a host club last week for a Group Study Exchange Team from South Korea. Other clubs within District 6800 (U.S.), including those in Senatobia, Oxford, Tupelo, Memphis, and Clarksdale, also entertained the five-person team for at least a portion of their month-long visit to the Mid-South.{paypalaccess}Read more{/paypalaccess}

The South Korean team was led by Young-Kwi Ryu, a real estate broker from Jeanju City in Jeollabuk-do province. Other members were journalist Soo-Jeong Eun; firefighter Kyung-Su Park; public official Heuk-ran Yu; and civil engineer Jung-pil Choi. The team represented Korean District 3670.

Host families in Tunica included Gloria and Charles Hailey, William and Betty Jo Dulaney and Brooks and Dick Taylor.
