Debose helps CBU to 89-47 win

On Dec. 18, the Christian Brothers University Lady Bucs collected a season-high 20 steals, scoring 43 points off turnovers as they rolled to an 89-47 win to snap their losing streak at five games.
The Lady Bucs (5-5) wasted no time asserting control of the game, with Sheena DeBose (Tunica, Miss./Rosa Fort HS) scoring six points during a 10-0 run that turned a 2-2 tie into a 12-2 lead with 12:39 remaining in the half.
The Toppers (4-5) cut the margin back to 21-15, but a 16-2 run capped by a Jessica Green (Memphis, Tenn./Lausanne HS) triple gave CBU a 37-17 lead with 2:04 remaining in the half.  Blue Mountain never came closer than 19 points again.

Ty Harris (Memphis, Tenn./White Station HS) scored 12 of her career-high 16 points in the second half.  DeBose led the Lady Bucs with 19 as well as six rebounds and three blocks.  Marissa Stewart (Atlanta, Ga./Arlington Christian HS) scored 14.  Green added 12, while Briley Milfeld (Farmington, Mo./Farmington HS) added 11.  #Casey Gregory grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds off the bench to go with seven points and three blocks.
All nine Lady Bucs who dressed recorded at least one steal, as their team total of 20 was the third-most in school history, four off the school record set last November against Mid-Continent.  Their 89 points marked the the sixth-highest score in a game in school history.
Joy Pierce and Erin Parrish led Blue Mountain with eight points each.
The Lady Bucs converted 31 turnovers into 43 points, while their season-high 29 turnovers led to 21 Topper points.  CBU had its best shooting day of the season, shooting 48.5 percent (33-of-68) overall including 42.9 percent (9-of-21) from three-point range, both season-highs.  They held Blue Mountain to 21.7 percent (15-of-69) overall and 11.5 percent (3-of-26) from three-point range.
CBU will face Lambuth in Jackson, Tenn at 6 p.m. on  January 6, 2011.
