Mr. and Mrs. Charles Marion Cariker proudly announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Meagan Cariker to Corey Lynn Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jones of Jackson, Tenn.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marion Cariker of Dundee, Miss. and the late Mrs. Frances Hawthorne Deane, T.K. Hawthorne and Edward Deane, formerly of Greenville, Miss.
Miss Cariker was an honor graduate of Tunica Institute of Learning. She also graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and The University of Tennessee Health Science Center with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While attending MSU, the bride was a cheerleader, a scholar athlete as a student athletic trainer, member of the Kappa Delta Pi honor society, and the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. Miss Cariker is currently employed as an emergency room nurse with Methodist Hospitals.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Edward Jones and the late Mr. Jones, and the late Delois Scott, all of Amory, Miss.
Mr. Jones graduated from Northside High School in Jackson, Tenn. He graduated from Dyersburg State Community College receiving an Associate of Science Degree in Secondary Education. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Mid-Continent University. Mr. Jones attended Dyersburg State Community College and Mid-Continent University on a baseball scholarship. He is currently employed with the Memphis City Schools, as an elementary teacher.
The couple will exchange vows at five o’clock in the afternoon on October 9, 2010 at Tunica United Methodist Church with the reception to follow at the home of the bride’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marion Cariker.
After a honeymoon to a surprise destination, the couple will reside in Cordova, Tenn.
