Barger, Sheaff exchange vows

Miss Rebecca Kent Barger and Mr. Daniel Alexander Sheaff were married at six o’clock on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Reverend Doctor Sidney Franklin Batts officiated.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Greensboro Country Club. On Friday evening the rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at the Proximity Hotel.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Kent Barger of Greensboro.
She is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Brigham Webb of Tunica, Mississippi and the late Mr. Webb, and Mrs. Donald Ray Barger of Greenwood, Mississippi and the late Mr. Barger.
The bride is a graduate of Greensboro Day School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina. The bride is employed by Vieuxtemps in Charleston, South Carolina.
The groom is the son of Ms. May Beverly Hemby of Charlotte, North Carolina and Mr. Danny Earl Sheaff of Indian Trail, North Carolina.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Torrence Eli Hemby.  Paternal grandparents are Mrs. Earl Hampton Sheaff and the late Mr. Sheaff.
He is a graduate of Providence Day School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina State University. The groom is employed by Ecobilt Energy Systems in Charleston.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sisters Bettie Parsons Barger as maid of honor and Rachel Barger Cobb as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Gaines Donaldson Douglas, Molly Fortune Hassenfelt, Catherine Cameron Leppard, Clarence Blake Mills, and May Beverly Norman, sister of the groom. Honorary bridesmaids were Lindsay Gray Alexander, Nancy Carlson Calhoun, Caroline Parrott DuRant, Jessica Caitlin Ebert, Margaret Scott McFarland, Margaret Quinn Mounger, Dana Ellen Murphy,  Elizabeth Christian Pope, and Bonnie DeWitt Scales.
The flower girls were Dawson Alexander Amick, cousin of the groom; Rebecca Parsons Cobb, niece of the bride; Mary Evelyn McLean, cousin of the bride; and Shaelyn Blye Sheaff, niece of the groom. The reader was Matthew Leighton McAdams. Program attendants were Lacy Neill Barger, Julia Evans Hight, and Mary Margaret Mink, all cousins of the bride.
The groom’s father served as best man.  Groomsmen were John William Gray, Walter Jordan Gussenhoven, Joseph Andrew Hollmeyer, Horace Robinson Kornegay III, William Ludwick Palmer, William Tyler Martin, James Heilig Wilkinson IV. Ushers were Alan Michael Burnett, junior, cousin of the groom; Matthew Perkins Cobb, brother-in-law of the bride; Shane Hampton Sheaff,  brother of the groom; Thomas Heath Norman, brother-in-law of the groom;  Thomas Joseph Mascia, cousin of the groom; and Torrence Hemby Tennant, cousin of the groom.
Following a wedding trip to Belize, the couple will reside in Charleston.
