Board mum on matters
The Board of Supervisors kept their thoughts close to the vest during the first board meeting in 2011, offering few remarks at their session on Jan. 4.
Department head reports from the Arena director and heads of the water management agency, housing department and planning commission were included in supervisors’ packets. Sheriff K.C. Hamp, Parks and Recreation Director Billy Willis and Justice Court clerk Jennifer Williams did offer brief remarks.
Hamp reported just over $7,000 will be reimbursed to the county for the month of December. He has hired a new jailer and a deputy. He asked that he and three employees be allowed to attend a CrimeStoppers Conference in Biloxi Jan. 19-21. The board approved his travel request.
