County discusses insurance, new fees
Anticipating the June 1 expiration of a current contract for health insurance, supervisors voted Monday, April 7, to hire Nick Floyd of Mendenhall, MS as agent of record for Tunica County. Henry Nickson, McKinley Daley and Phillis Williams voted in favor of the motion, Cedric Burnett voted no, and Board president James Dunn abstained.
“I’m not comfortable voting, not having read his contract,” Dunn explained, after Board attorney Ellis Pittman said he had reviewed the terms. Pittman said the county could terminate the agreement with 30 days’ notice if officials weren’t satisfied with Floyd’s work.''
