Get out your wheelbarrows, potting soil and rakes
A new initiative by the town will award Yard of the Month titles to one resident each during the months of April, May and June.
The first winner will be announced at the Rivergate Festival on April 26, Main Street director Lynn Ryals said after the measure was approved unanimously by town aldermen on April 1. The project was proposed by Ward 2’s Brad Beach.
The town is also unofficially encouraging residents to “clean up, paint up, fix up” during the month of April. Citizens may call Town Hall at (662) 363-2432 to request extra pick-ups for yard trimmings and other trash.
