TCSD Superintendent set on advancing despite failing start
While many in the media and around the country are recognizing Tunica County School District’s Superintendent for his youth, Bernard Steven Chandler is focused on making sure his name and district are known for successes.
Chandler took office two years ago and has already experienced a gamut of challenges in his efforts to advance the district, he said. Some colleagues criticize Chandler’s leadership style and attribute it to early conflicts between Chandler and the Tunica County School Board. Chandler admits things started out rough with the board but they’ve been working together for positive results for the district in the last several months.
