Town backs extra sales tax legislation
A popular song describes riding around with the windows down and the radio turned up, but town officials discussed the other side of that coin – the nuisance of noise – during their Jan. 7 meeting.
Alderman Brad Beach asked Police Chief Richard Veazey for an estimate on the number of citations written for noise ordinance violations. Veazey said it was difficult to catch violators in the act because when a police car shows up, the offender turns the music down.
