Administrator calls co. financial situation ‘critical’
The Board of Supervisors may have faced a bigger threat at Monday’s meeting than the county’s faltering finances.
Sheriff K.C. Hamp noted, in a letter he read to the Board, his concern for the structural integrity of the ceiling in the courtroom where the meeting was being held.
“I am asking the Board for a building inspector to check the HVAC (heating and air system),” Hamp wrote, “out of concern for the safety of the public.
“The ceiling could cave in and cause injuries.”
