Town board approves slimmed down budget for FY 2014
Town officials took no action on a request for land for a project being supported by Tunica County.
Supervisors Henry Nickson and McKinley Daley were on the agenda to speak to Mayor Chuck Cariker and the Board of Aldermen on Sept. 3. Neither was present, but Board of Supervisors Attorney Andy Dulaney fielded questions in their absence.
Dulaney said a $3.3 million emergency shelter was being proposed and 95 percent of the project would be funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The remainder would be paid for by Tunica County.
