Supervisors seek grant, bond reissue
Two public notices submitted from Tunica County and running in this week’s paper (see Page 5) may pique citizens’ interest because they deal with loans and grant funds. But according to Board attorney Andy Dulaney, in the Notice to Taxpayers concerning validation of bonds, citizens are being notified that county officials plan to refinance two prior bond issues, in order to save money.
“The county is not adding more debt,” Dulaney explained. “This refinancing will actually result in a net savings to the county of $200,000.”
