Cookin with The Columns: A Tunica classic
Last week, Brooks was looking for something in an old copy of The Tunica Times. She came across this recipe from November 12, 1992 that is from a story about Mrs. J.C. (IdaMae) Still’s 99th birthday. Many of you probably remember her. Mrs. Still was obviously very well known for her cooking here in Tunica. The article says her most popular dishes were cheese straws, caramel cake, coconut cake, lasagna, Spanish Delight, and Chicken Travern. The recipe was included for this chicken dish so I am passing it on to you. If it was delicious then, I’m sure it still is today. It’s definitely not a Weight Watchers recipe this week, though.
