Hubbard to shine at area gala
Crystal Ball XIII will provide the backdrop to honor four outstanding Community Stars, including one from Tunica County.
Woman of the Year, Reverend Evelyn Hubbard, of Tunica, is a woman after God’s own heart. She is a volunteer community leader and liaison that is known as ‘the voice’ for her character, passion and dedication to service. Her talents assist in providing singing and preaching to encourage residents at the Tunica County Nursing Home and the inmates at the jail.
Hubbard co-founded the Tunica 10 Point Coalition, where she volunteers as Executive Director. She provides leadership to faith-based organizations targeting at-risk youth who are abused, on drugs, and have violence and chronic health/wellness issues. One program in 2012 targeted obesity in children, youth and adults. Other volunteer activities include working with the Tunica County Domestic & Sexual Violence Initiative, Advisory Committee for Tunica County Schools, 4-H Advisory Council member, and Trustee for the First Regional Library Board representing Tunica County.
