Archie and Olivia Manning will be honored as the 2013 Stars of the year by the Community Foundation of Northwest Mississippi at Crystal Ball XIII. The gala is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at The Arena at Southaven.
Archie, a native of Drew in Northwest Mississippi, has been voted Mississippi’s Greatest All-Time Athlete. He had an All American football career with Ole Miss and then the New Orleans Saints, where he was named the conference’s Most Valuable Player. He has been very active in charitable causes including Boy Scouts, Special Olympics, and Salvation Army.
