Tunica Airport tapped for federal grant
The Tunica Airport was among three Mississippi airports receiving federal funding, according to a press release issued by Congressman Roger Wicker and Sen. Thad Cochran’s offices late last week.
The grants, issued by the Federal Aviation Administration, totalled $11.8 million. Tunica will receive $781,524.
“Each of the projects supported by this funding is designed to improve air service, which is important for economic development and tourism,” Cochran said. “I am particularly pleased that funding is being provided to support the growth of air service in the Tunica area.”
