Nine Tunica casinos reopen after flood
All nine Tunica casinos have now reopened, with the last three marking Memorial Day weekend with special celebrations.
Bally’s, Harrah’s Tunica, and The Fitz welcomed customers back on Friday, May 27.
Harrah’s honored military and civil servants at a 1:30 p.m. program that included the presentation of the colors by the Tunica County Sheriff’s Department and remarks from Tunica mayor Chuck Cariker and Sheriff KC Hamp. Harrah’s Tunica employee Vincent Pollard performed “I’m Proud to Be an American.” At the 2 p.m. reopening, guests received American flags and commemorative flood t-shirts.
