Schulz funds total $21 million
A $69.4 million county budget for Fiscal Year 2011 includes nearly $21 million dedicated to the Schulz pipe plant project.
Grants and loans for the project from the state of Mississippi total approximately $15.6 million, while another $5.2 million in federal grant funds will pass through the county budget.
The $48.6 million of revenue in the budget, and not dedicated to the Schulz project, can be broken down into:
Tunica mourns Ashe
Harvey Kimzey Ashe’s banking and political careers ran concurrently during decades of change for both, and he willingly lent his leadership to these arenas and many more during the 54 years he made Tunica his home.
A former mayor from 1989 through 1993 and an alderman for 24 years prior to his election as mayor, Ashe, who died at home Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at the age of 85, was active in almost every aspect of community life.
